We recognize that every patient’s visual needs are different, and that’s why we have always provided a wide range of vision procedures besides just LASIK. One impressive alternative that every patient should know about is the Visian ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens), a revolutionary lens that provides sharp, vivid vision with great depth and dimension. Besides the clarity of visual results, what sets the Visian ICL apart is the fact that it is FDA-approved to treat patients with a glasses prescription from -3 diopters up to as high as -20 diopters. (To put it in perspective, LASIK generally can only treat prescriptions up to -10.) Visian ICL is also a wonderful option for individuals with thin corneas who may not have been suitable candidates for LASIK.

This year marks an important milestone for Kremer Eye Center, our 30th Anniversary. We are proud to have proven ourselves over the last 30 years as one of the industry leaders in vision care. In 1980, our founder, Dr. Frederic Kremer, performed the first Radial Keratotomy in the Philadelphia region, and in 1993, we performed the first LASIK procedure in North America. We revolutionized cataract surgery in the ‘90s as well, pioneering the first no-stitch, no-injection method in the region.
